Power Vinyasa: Lively, energetic, flowing class synchronizing breath with movement. Power Yoga is a vigorous, strength-building, flexibility-enhancing form of vinyasa (flow) yoga, with emphasis on the principle of adaptation and linking breath to movement. Tone your core. Cleanse the body and calm the mind. You can always expect a great cardiovascular and strength building workout combined with breath work (pranayama). Wherever you are on your path, this class has something for you; the class offers modifications and direction for those new to the practice, and more advanced variations for the seasoned yogi. Practice at your own level of ability, fitness level and circumstance. **You don't need to be physically flexible; all you need is to come, breathe, move, sweat, let go. All levels welcome- Vinyasa Flow: A vigorous, creative, dynamic style that links breath and movement through heat building sequence of postures. This class is designed specifically for stamina & strength of alignment. In this class students will explore more advanced postures longer, and deepen their understanding of the asanas. This class is meant to provide an opportunity for investigation, challenge, and surrender. For the physically active. Gentle Flow Basic: A gentle class the combines yoga postures, breathing, and meditation. This class is geared toward students who wish to move at a slower pace. Ideal for beginners, prenatal and seniors Open: An eclectic blend of yoga traditions, using the breath, movement and alignment. Students explore their strength and flexibility through a series of postures that incorporates twists, balancing, and some inversion. Through exploring the body's subtleties, you will build your endurance, deepen your stretches, and increase self-awareness. Explore the Asanas, Breathing Techniques or Pranayama, and Meditation Restorative: Supported and stabilized by props, one experiences the yoga postures as profoundly relaxing and deeply rejuvenating, invoking a natural state of healing rest, renewal and equanimity. The body releases naturally by practicing supported and passive yoga postures. Deeply held tension and stress melts away. Restorative is appropriate for anyone, at any age or stage of life, or in any physical condition. Kids Yoga: Fun and imaginative, the program is designed to help children build strength, flexibility, and concentration in a non-competitive environment. Mat Pilates: A series of exercises that are done on the floor on your mat. Mat pilates classes will help you improve posture and develop core control, which is the ability to move effectively and efficiently by transmitting force from the body's center through the torso and limbs. Pilates evolved mat exercises corrdinates diaphragmatic breathing with properly sequenced co-contractions of the deep abdominal, pelvic floor and spinal musculature. Belly Dance: More recently, Belly Dance has been praised for its countless health benefits. In the West, people have been using it for the purposes of healing (physical as well as emotional), meditation, weight loss, stress relief and to improve muscle tone, endurance, balance, flexibility, body awareness, and coordination. Although so many women start studying it because of its health benefits, they eventually find that Belly Dance allows them to express their femininity and rediscover their body's natural movement, while having fun, looking beautiful, and feeling good. Is it a dance of seduction, or a joyous family activity? A great explanation of the "Centeredness" or the "inner dance" which is the distinct quality of this art form. Most of the belly dancing in the world is NOT done on stage by costumed professionals but by "regular" people at various social gatherings, such as parties, weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions! |
